Homefront Advantage

I finally finished a short video (less than two minutes) on WWII posters for the Homefront. These posters exhorted all of us to become part of the war effort. It wasn't about "going shopping" then, it was about energy and resource conservation, rationing ourselves for the benefit of our armed forces, and making the Homefront an effective front for fighting the Axis powers.

In 2004, I tried to contact the Kerry campaign to convince them to use these posters in reminding us of our history. I think they would be just as effective this election year.

I also hand delivered to Al Gore a packet with some of my favorite WWII posters but, again, have seen no results from this attempt.

This video shows what can be done when there is leadership in the country. The President and Congress need to come together and communicate the reality of the energy and environmental situation with Americans and present a comprehensive energy plan that makes sense, including telling us what is expected of us, as well as what the Government will be doing.

We are in an energy war that is bankrupting our country, sending close to a trillion dollars/year to other countries to buy oil. Any incident and the price of oil will escalate further, and oil might even become scarce, causing lines at gas stations and a much larger downturn in the economy.

We need a large scale mobilization of our Government, our companies and our people. We need to become energy independent. Bring back the posters, and bring back leadership in Washington.

disgraceful that 4 years after you delivered these posters there is even greater a need. No need to rewrite history here. There is so many messages that are still relevant. Thanks for reminding us.
